One week till Xmas!Are you ready?

I still have some things to buy,to send,to write,to clean,etc)One week left,but definetely in festive mood already)))))).

Christmas Tree

Our Xmas Tree is finally ready,totally child-dog-friendly and  glassfree.I'm keeping all my glass handmade and all other special decorations till my baby grows up,this morning he managed to break a plastic decoration anyway,so if you have kids under age of 6 it's probably a good idea to keep it glass free and not be worried all the time that somebody might hurt themselves and let it be fun for little ones.So our tree is mostly decorated by Lee,it doesn't look anything like I wanted to have,you know all those beatiful pictures of Xmas trees of one color:all white or silver or the whole tree decorated in one special style,but ours instead is Very 3year-old like and for us it's of course more special than any magazine style.

Bagels!Mmmmmm....

Since we don't have any bagels here in Madeira,we used to get them aaaaaall the way from England,it's good that they last so long.But today we decided to bake them at home......Yeah,real bagels at home.(Remember good breakfasts at Dunkin Donuts in NY).Anyway,to my big surprise they turned out perfect,and it wasn't as dificult as I imagined.I used this recipe:

I didn't use any malt powder though and didn't put any baking soda into the water,have to try it next time,it's good to know all the useful tricks.

Superstitious?No!But.......

I had to write another essay for my Portuguese class.´´Are you superstitious?What are the most common superstitions you know?´´So I start: ´´No,I'm not superstitious at all!...........and After a while I end up with several pages of  me not being superstitious,with some exceptions like black cats,which are believed to be witches turned into animal,number 13,especially Friday 13,knock on the wood,make a wish on a falling star,to break a mirror brings bad luck for 7 years,the groom shouldn't see the bride with her wedding dress on before the ceremony,no bags,no hats,no keys on the table-that brings bad luck,if you had to come back home(you forgot something) you have to look in the mirror,can't kill spiders that brings bad luck ( I never kill them because I think you can't kill any creatures,(except mosquito) and many others.No,I'm not superstitious at all!)))Are you?)))))))

Purple

I don't really like purple color,never thought it looked good on me either,but.......here is a new dress,totally not my color or style,but I LOVE it,and it is sooo loose and comfortable.What do you think?
P.S.It is not the shoes I'm going  to use it with,it will be some black ones I think.

Maiores mudancas da minha vida.......

I had to write en essay (composition) *My biggest life changes* for yesterday's class ,in portuguese, of course.I was thinking a while about it,well,exactly 3 days and thought I had nothing to write aboute,but then I just wrote exatly how it was.......not they really care about your personal experiences ,it's all about grammar,using the right forms,times,spelling,you know,the usual school things.......The composition came out pretty long to my surprise...It was something like that ( I make it short for you,because I really don't have so much time right now,have to go to school):
Th first part was about how people have to make choices to pursue the life they want to have,the things they have to change,the sacrifices that are needed to be made,that some people to reach their goals have to start a new career,or to move to a new town or may be country or finish some relationships that stopping them from moving forward,etc
When I lived in Kazakhstan I went to University for 4 years and had just 6 months left before graduation when I decided to move to the US.I don't even think that  I asked my mother,I just decided.....Pretty irresponsible leaving the 4years study,but I've done that and never really had any regrets.And there I was in the country where I didn't know a single person.Scary?Yes,but more fun I would say.So there went 4 years with good and bad days.All that are good memories now.Then it was even more difficult decision to be made-to stay in the states or move to Sweden.....After a while I moved to Sweden....not going to write my thoughts about Sweden here.....then we moved to Portugal after 4 years I think and that was  pretty much about it.....Do I have to mention that I had to learn a language every time and that I had to leave close friends or family behind?Of course there was  much more details and descriptions,but there I had it- biggest changes of my life.I would say that even a bigger change out of all this was to become a mother for me,but it is a different story and as you might have noticed I am not a very open person,may be one day I will tell you more.
